How to Know about LPG Cylinder Expirty Date

Have u ever heard about LPG gas cylinder's expire date.
  • How to find LPG cylinder's expiry date?

Most of us do not know this. I came to know today from the gas stockiest, because here one accident occurred. Today as I was passing by the cylinder distributor in our colony a cylinder with A07 was found.

Expired Cylinders are not safe for use and may cause accidents.   All concerned should take necessary steps.
P
lease be cautious at the time of accepting any LPG cylinder from the vendor.

Here is how we can check the expiry of LPG cylinders:

On one of three side stems of the cylinder, the expiry date is coded in alphanumerical as follows A or B or C or D and some two digit number following this e.g. A07.

The alphabets stand for the quarter in a year-
A - January to March (First Qtr).
B - April to June (Second Qtr).
C - July to Sept (Third Qtr).
D - October to December (Fourth Qtr).

The digits stand for the year till it is valid
.
Hence A07

  • "A" stands for the first quarter i.e. January to March.
  • "07" stands for the present year 2007.

Share this message with everyone you know, UR kind cooperation will save life of many people and create awareness among the public.

Please do not accept the cylinder if the date has already expired.

Mothers day special - Nice eMail MIR's

If you send this to link to one person, it should make it all the way around the world byMother's Day.

Link - http://www.mailsiread.com/2008/05/mothers-day-special-nice-email-mirs.html

This is for the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers in their arms, wiping up barf laced with Oscar Mayer wieners and cherry Kool-Aid saying, 'It's okay honey, Mommy's here.'

Who have sat in rocking chairs for hours on end, soothing crying babies who can't be comforted.

This is for all the mothers who show up at work with spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses and diapers in their purse.

For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies and sew Halloween costumes.
And all the mothers who DON'T.

This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll never see. And the mothers who took those babies and gave them homes.

This is for the mothers whose priceless art collections are hanging on their refrigerator doors.

And for all the mothers who froze their buns on metal bleachers at football or baseball games instead of watching from the warmth of their cars. And that when their kids asked, 'Did you see me, Mom?' They could say, 'Of course, I wouldn't have missed it for the world,' and mean it.

This is for all the mothers who yell at their kids in the grocery store and swat them in despair when they stomp their feet and scream for ice cream before dinner. And for all the mothers who count to ten instead, but realize how child abuse happens.

This is for all the mothers who sat down with their children and explained all about making babies. And for all the (grand)mothers who wanted to, but just couldn't find the words.

This is for all the mothers who go hungry, so their children can eat.

For all the mothers who read 'Goodnight, Moon' twice a night for a year. And then read it again, 'Just one more time.'

This is for all the mothers who taught their children to tie their shoelaces before they started school. And for all the mothers who opted for Velcro instead.

This is for all the mothers who teach their sons to cook and their daughters to sink a jump shot.

This is for every mother whose head turns automatically when a little voice calls 'Mom?' in a crowd, even though they know their own offspring are at home -- or even away at college -- or have their own families.

This is for all the mothers who sent their kids to school with stomach aches, assuring them they'd be just FINE once they got there, only to get calls from the school nurse an hour later asking them to please pick them up. Right away.

This is for mothers whose children have gone astray, who can't find the words to reach them.

For all the mothers who bite their lips until they bleed when their 14-year-olds dye their hair green.

For all the mothers of the victims of recent school shootings, and the mothers of those who did the shooting.

For the mothers of the survivors, and the mothers who sat in front of their TVs in horror, hugging their child who just came home from school safely.

This is for all the mothers who taught their children to be peaceful, and now pray they come home safely from a war.

What makes a good mother anyway?

Is it patience? Compassion? Broad hips?
The ability to nurse a baby, cook dinner, and sew a button on a shirt, all at the same time?

Or is it in her heart?
Is it the ache she feels when she watches her son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school alone for the very first time?

The jolt that takes her from sleep to dread, from bed to crib at 2 A.M. to put her hand on the back of a sleeping baby?

The panic, years later, that comes again at 2 A.M. when she just wants to hear their key in the door and know they are safe again in her home?

Or the need to flee from wherever she is and hug her child when she hears news of a fire, a car accident, a child dying?

The emotions of motherhood are universal and so our thoughts are for young mothers stumbling through diaper changes and sleep deprivation... And for mature mothers learning to let go.

For working mothers and stay-at-home mothers. Single mothers and married mothers.
Mothers with money, mothers without. This is for you all. For all of us...

Hang in there. In the end we can only do the best we can. Tell them every day that we love them. And pray and never stop being a mother...

Please pass along to all the mothers in your life. 'Home is what catches you when you fall - and we all fall.'

Please pass this link to wonderful mother you know.

Long awaited rule in India

Dear MIR's,
The Supreme Court in a judgment on Right to Emergency Care, case no Appeal (civil) 919 of 2007 of 23 Feb 2007, has ruled that all injured persons especially in the case of road traffic accidents, assaults, etc., when brought to a hospital or medical centre, have to be offered first aid, stabilized and shifted to a higher centre / government centre if required. It is only after this that the hospital can demand payment or complete police formalities.

In case you are a bystander and wish to help someone in an accident, please go ahead and do so. Your responsibility ends as soon as you leave the person at the hospital. The hospital bears the responsibility of informing the police, providing first aid, etc.

Please do inform your family and friends about these basic rights so that we all know what to expect and what to do in the hour of need.

Help for Brajesh Khare sister fighting Cancer

Dear MIR's,
(This mail is circulated to Satyam employees and posted here in MIR (Mails I Read) Please forward this link to all your friends http://www.mailsiread.com/2008/03/help-for-brajesh-khare-sister-fighting.html )

My name is Brajesh Khare working with Satyam Computers, Bangalore. I am approaching you all with a request to help me in saving the life of my younger sister who is fighting an advanced stage of Breast Cancer Stage III, she needs immediate medical attention before it is too late.

My sister Vandana Asthana, age 35 yrs and mother of two small kids, has developed advanced stage of Breast Cancer which is called Infiltrating Duct Carcinoma stage III in medical parleyance. She has been immediately referred to Tata Memorial Hospital,Mumbai for treatment. Her line of treatment is six sets of Chemotherapy followed by Surgery ( complete removal of breast) and follow on Chemotherapies.

Unfortunately, another test confirms the malignity of tumors which is known as Cerb B2 and found score3 and it has complicated the chemotherapy. To destroy this malignity, a drug by the name Herceptin is to be given alongwith Chemotherapy. Roughly 10-12 dosage of Herceptin to be given pre and post surgery alongwith Chemo and the cost of one dose itself is around 1-1.25 lacs. The complete treatment requires roughly 18- 20 lacs of expenses which includes chemo, Herceptin drug and surgery.

I alongwith my brother in law are in the process of raising funds as these expenses are totally beyond our reach. However, both of us have somehow managed to raise 8-10 lacs but still short of required expenses of treatment. As a desperate attempt to save life not only of my sister but to rescue the family, I was contemplating of approaching the philanthropists within and outside Satyam.

I urge all our philanthropists to contribute generously as small contributions can even lead to big amount considering the size of our organization. Contribution may please be made through any of the following modes:

Online: ICICI Bank A/c 00480155**** ( Brajesh Khare, Secunderabad)
Cheque: Brajesh Khare and forward to Satyam Computers, 14 Langford Avenue, Lalbagh Road, Bangalore-560025
Cash: Pl call me on my mobile no. 09341832323 to make arrangement to collect the same.

Regards,
Brajesh Khare

GlobalScholar Raises $27 Million B Round To Tackle Online Education

Dear MIR,

Seattle-based GlobalScholar is announcing today a $27 million B Round from existing investors Ignition Partners and Knowledge Universe Education. This is on top of a previously undisclosed $15.5 million A Round the company raised early last year. Board members include Ignition’s Brad Silverberg and former Drugstore.com CEO Peter Neupert.

In conjunction with the investment round, GlobalScholar is also announcing that it has acquired Excelsior Software for an undisclosed amount (although it was less than half the total raised). Excelsior makes student assessment software used by teachers in 1,000 school districts nationwide. GlobalScholar will be adding the Excelsior’s business to its existing Web-based tutoring platform, which it launched quietly last fall.

globalscholar-small-screen-2.pngGlobalScholar is a WebEx for tutors. Parents and students can find pre-screened tutors on GlobalScholar for a variety of subjects and pay for one-time homework help or engage in ongoing tutoring sessions. The sessions occur on GlobalScholar’s Website, which provides an online whiteboard, audio chat, archiving, and billing. (Here is a screencast explaining how it works).

Tutors can charge their own rates—which can range from $5 to $95 an hour—and GlobalScholar takes a 20 percent cut. The first hour is only $1 to encourage people to try out the service, and GlobalScholar is offering $5,000 to the student with the highest SAT score that takes an SAT prep class online. Competitors include SmartThinking, Tutor.com, and TutorVista—the NYT reviews Tutor.com today. Watch out, Kaplan.

In addition to GlobalScholar, the company also launched two other Websites in the past few weeks. SchoolFinder pulls together basic information for elementary and high schools and lets parents compare one school against another. And CollegeFinder does the same for colleges, pulling in rankings from U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review. It also lists celebrity alums for each college. (Did you know that Sigourney Weaver and Ted Koppel both went to Stanford?). Parent and student reviews are coming soon.

Play for Kids - Careful

Dear MIR's,

We feel its fun play for kids in Mac Donalds or any other retail that has the pit ball...

McDonalds, Burger king, Time Zone... All places with ball pits in the children's play area.
One of my son lost his watch, and was very upset. We dug and dug in those balls, trying to find his watch. Instead, we found vomit, food, faeces, and other stuff I do not want to discuss.

I went to the manager and raised hell. Come to find out, the ball pit is only cleaned out once a month. I have doubts that it is even done that often. My kids will never play in another ball pit.

Some of you might not be parents, but you may have nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or friends with children. This will pertain to you too. As I read the following, my heart sank.

I urge each and every one of you to pass this on to as many people as you can. I cannot stress how important this is!

Hi. My name is Lauren Archer, my son Kevin and I lived in Melbourne, Australia. On October 2nd, 1999 I took my only son to McDonald's for his 3rd birthday.

After he finished lunch, I allowed him to play in the ball pit. When he started whining later on, I asked him what was wrong, he pointed to the back of his pull-up and simply said "Mommy, it hurts." I couldn't find anything wrong with him at that time. I bathed him when we got home, and it was at that point when I found a welt on his left buttock.

Upon investigating, it seemed as if there was something like a splinter under the welt. I made an appointment to see the doctor the next day, but soon he started vomiting and shaking, then his eyes rolled back into his head. From there, we went to the emergency room. He died later that night.

It turned out that the welt on his buttock was the tip of a hypodermic needle that had broken off inside.

The autopsy revealed that Kevin had died from a heroine overdose. The next week, the police removed the balls from the ball pit. There was rotten food, several hypodermic needles: some full, some used; knives, half-eaten candy, diapers, faeces, and the stench of urine.

Don't think it's just McDonald's either. A little boy had been playing in a ball pit @ a Burger King & started complaining of his legs hurting. He later died too. He was found to have snake bites all over his legs & buttocks. When they cleaned the ball pit they found that there was a snake's
nest in the ball pit. He had suffered numerous bites from a very poisonous snake.

Repost this if it scares the crap out of you!! Repost this if you care about kids!! Please forward this to all loving mothers, fathers and anyone who loves and cares for children!! What has this world come to?? If a child is not safe in a child's play area then.
